Deaf-Friendly Audiology Services
Connecting Deaf and hard of hearing people through inclusive, respectful care.
At Expression Audiology, we do things differently. We’re proudly independent, not-for-profit, and deeply connected to the Deaf community. Our audiology services are designed to be accessible, inclusive, and culturally safe — ensuring every person feels respected, understood, and empowered in their hearing care journey.
Why choose a Deaf-friendly audiology service?
Traditional hearing services can often focus only on technology. We focus on people — their communication preferences, language, and lived experience.
Our Deaf-friendly approach means:
Traditional hearing services can often focus only on technology. We focus on people — their communication preferences, language, and lived experience.
- Auslan access — all clinics are Auslan-friendly, with interpreters available on request.
- Auslan in your appointments- all clinicians have at a minimum basic Auslan skills, with some clinicians being more fluent, if you would like to request a specific clinician please let us know when you are booking your appointment.
- Visual communication support — our team uses clear communication tactics, written instructions, and visual aids.
- Cultural awareness — our audiologists and support staff are trained to understand Deaf culture, identity, and communication styles.
- Client choice and control — you decide how you want to communicate and what’s most important to you.
A welcoming environment
Our clinics are warm, visual, and inclusive spaces — with staff who genuinely understand and respect Deaf and hard of hearing experiences.
Our difference
With over 50 years of community-based service, Expression Audiology continues to lead the way in inclusive audiology. We’re not tied to any hearing aid manufacturer — our only goal is to find what works best for you.
Whether you use Auslan, spoken English, or both, we’ll meet you where you are — with empathy, expertise, and genuine respect.
