Funding & Rebates
At Expression Audiology, we believe quality hearing care should be accessible to everyone. For over 50 years, we’ve helped people navigate the many funding, subsidy and rebate pathways available.
Below you’ll find information about the most common support options. If you’re unsure which applies to you, our team can guide you step-by-step.
Hearing Aid Subsidies – Hearing Services Program (HSP)
The Australian Government Hearing Services Program (HSP) provides subsidised hearing tests and hearing aids for eligible pensioners, veterans, and their dependents.
- Eligible clients may receive fully subsidised hearing tests and a range of “free-to-client” hearing devices
- If you’d prefer additional features (rechargeable batteries or more discreet designs), you can contribute towards an upgraded device.
- Audiology providers under HSP do not receive commissions, meaning recommendations are based on your needs, not sales targets.
Eligibility: To access the program, you need to be an Australian citizen or permanent resident, and hold a relevant concession or veteran card.

Veterans & Pensioners
If you hold a Pensioner Concession Card, DVA Gold Card, or a DVA White Card (with hearing loss listed as an accepted condition), you may be entitled to subsidised or free hearing services.
Through the Department of Veterans’ Affairs (DVA), eligible clients can access:
- Fully subsidised hearing tests and device fittings
- Ongoing maintenance, batteries, servicing and repairs
- Assistive listening devices through the Rehabilitation Appliances Program (RAP)
- Optional premium upgrades at a client contribution
NDIS (National Disability Insurance Scheme)
If you are an NDIS participant, hearing services and technology may be funded under your plan. This includes hearing assessments, hearing aids and assistive devices, and ongoing support.
We support self-managed, plan-managed and NDIA-managed participants and can assist with reports, quotes and documentation.

Commonwealth Home Support Program (CHSP)
If you receive assistance through the Commonwealth Home Support Program (CHSP), hearing support may be included as part of your care plan. This is especially important if hearing difficulties affect your independence, safety, or ability to connect with others.

Hearing Aid Bank
Expression Audiology is proud to partner with the Geelong Community Foundation Hearing Aid Bank, which provides new and refurbished hearing aids to people in need.
This program is limited to residents of the Geelong Shire and is available through our Geelong clinic. Devices are carefully sanitised, tested and programmed by our audiologists to ensure safety and performance.
The Hearing Aid Bank is designed for people who:
- Live in the Geelong Shire
